3 Ways To Use Leftover Chocolate

February 15th may as well be deemed "Leftover Chocolate Appreciation Day". Whether you were gifted lots of Valentine’s Day chocolate from your loved ones, or are planning on getting it today on sale (the best day to be buying fancy chocolate), we’ve got you covered with recipes for how to make the most of this sweet treat.

Ice Cream

We love homemade “nice cream” as a way to use up overripe bananas and/or avocados as a base. When blended with your milk of choice (coconut, plant, or dairy) and different mix-ins, the flavor combinations are endless.

This chocolate avocado soft serve recipe features melted and cooled chocolate and doesn’t require an ice cream maker. To make it vegan, don’t use milk chocolate, and swap the honey for maple syrup.

Cookies

Pretty much any cookie recipe that you find that calls for chocolate chips or discs can be swapped out for chopped chocolate bars. We love these salty buckwheat chocolate chunk cookies for using up dark chocolate bars, or these chocolate pecan cookies for milk chocolate.

For a truly zero-waste chocolate chip cookie, make sure you check out Too Good To Go’s recipe for turning stale bread into amazing cookies.

You can find that blog post here.

Brownies

Perhaps the ultimate decadent treat is a double chocolate brownie. Easy to make, using ingredients you most likely already have at home. This simple recipe is a great base that you can modify however you like… just don’t skimp on the chocolate!

For a healthier option, try out these sweet potato brownies, and use whatever leftover chocolate you have handy. If you’ve got extra, brownies freeze well for up to 2 months.
