Bananas going old? 🍌 Fruits like bananas are perfect to freeze for later use. They preserve all their flavor and nutrients, so simply cut them into pieces and thank yourself later. One of our favorite ways to use frozen bananas is making delicious smoothie bowls, any time of the year.

When it comes to making banana smoothie bowls, anything goes, so feel free to tweak these recipes to use what you've got on hand. Pro tip: adding some Greek yogurt is a great way to get a protein boost. You will never waste a banana again! 💚
Overripe banana smoothie bowl
Ingredients:
A very ripe banana
Plant or regular milk
Honey
Any type of nuts you have handy (almond, nuts, chia…)
Seasonal or frozen fruits, according to the recipe.
Instructions:
Put your bananas in the blender
Add the additional fruits (we used frozen berries)
Add milk and a little honey
Blend everything together
Pour it into a bowl
Be creative with your toppings! Use more seasonal fruits, and different nuts and seeds. We recommend chia, flaxseed, and coconut flakes.
5 Overripe banana smoothie bowls to make every breakfast different!
1.Fall glow smoothie bowl
Ingredients:
1/2 cup boiled sweet potato (you can freeze any excess)
2 Tbsp canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
2 Tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 Frozen overripe banana
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions:
Combine everything in a blender and puree until smooth – the mixture should be thick.
Add a touch more liquid if necessary to get it to blend completely smooth.
Transfer to a bowl and add toppings as desired: chopped peanuts, chia seeds, coconut flakes, or sliced bananas.

2. Grapefruit smoothie bowl
Ingredients:
1/4 cup red grapefruit juice
1 cup of plant-based milk
1/2 Tbsp Honey
1 Frozen overripe banana
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
Instructions:
Place grapefruit juice, honey, banana, strawberries, and ice cubes into a blender and blend until smooth.
Add more liquid until you reach your desired consistency.
Pour your smoothie into a bowl and add toppings as desired, such as chopped peanuts, chia seeds, coconut flakes, sliced bananas…
3. Peanut butter and banana smoothie bowl
Ingredients:
1 cup plain or vanilla flavoured plant-based milk
1 Frozen overripe banana
3 Tbsp peanut butter
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 Tbsp chia seeds
¼ tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
Place the plant-based milk, bananas, peanut butter, cocoa, chia seeds, and vanilla in a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into individual bowls and garnish with your choice of optional toppers: chopped peanuts, chia seeds, coconut flakes, sliced bananas…

4. Coffee banana smoothie bowl
Ingredients:
1/2 cup black coffee chilled (if you make it in the morning, let it cool for 1h at least)
1/4 cup of plant-based milk
2 Frozen overripe bananas
1/2 teaspoon honey
Toppings: Sunflower seeds, chia seeds, granola, chocolate chips
Instructions:
Pour in the coffee, milk, frozen bananas, and honey into the blender
Pause blend if needed to push the ingredients down and scrap the sides
Blend coffee banana smoothie ingredients until creamy and thick
Pour coffee banana mixture into a bowl and top with your favorites

5. Apple pie smoothie bowl
Ingredients:
1 Frozen overripe banana
1/2 cup vanilla or normal Greek yogurt
2/3 cup apple sauce, unsweetened
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup Almond milk, unsweetened (if you want to make it vegan, put more almond milk instead of Greek yogurt)
Handful of fresh spinach or kale (optional)
Instructions:
Place everything in a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into individual bowls and garnish with your choice of optional toppers: chopped peanuts, chia seeds, coconut flakes, sliced bananas…
